When looking for a wedding photographer people commonly are concerned with two things:
1. Do I like the style and quality of photographs that they capture?
2. How much can I get for my investment?
And…yes!!! Those are two extremely important things; however it is also so important to remember that you are also hiring a person who will be by your side for a good portion of time on your wedding day capturing moments that you will look back upon for a very long time. That is why I believe in building a relationship with my clients and figuring out what I can do to capture the most honest and unique photographs possible. I pride my work in that many of my couples when it was said and done have said, ”It was like you were a part of the family!” this to me is a sign of a job done right. I aim to support that reputation with a collection of gorgeous photographs that will be artful and cherished for years to come. You might catch me at your groomsmen breakfast surf session taking pics or jamming on the dance floor by the end of the night. I think the best way to capture you being you is to keep everything fun!
THE BARE NECESSITIES (ALL PACKAGES INCLUDE A SECOND SHOOTER/ ASSISTANT)
My weddings include a full day of shooting (6 hours). All photos will be shot digital as uncompressed raw files you will receive a copy of all images after base editing is done in jpeg form. I typically send out around 700-1000 images from the day but shoot in a documentary style and therefore without a limit. All images can be converted to black and white or sepia from full color by your choosing without charge. You will receive an online slideshow and a password protected online gallery for guests to order prints directly from the lab. A two hour-long engagement session is included.
PHOTOGRAPHS YOU OWN
I firmly believe in the philosophy of not capitalizing on the rights to the photos from your wedding day. That is why with every package you will receive all high-resolution digital images (edited). I hope you feel free to print and share with friends and family in trade for spreading the word that they are from Melissa Fuller Photography.
If you found me, odds are you know that there is nothing I love more than photography and seeing new places. That is why for every destination wedding I shoot I do all that I can to accommodate your needs with a modest travel fee. Flight and room and board are not included in the price but I am happy to shoot additional dinners and activities and do all I can to meet your budget.
I provide several options for albums and parent albums. Albums range in cost from $400- $1,200 depending on what you are looking for. Styles range from a magazine style coffee table book to beautiful full color photo quality leather albums from Queensberry with flush or aperture recessed images. I do a complimentary consultation with my couples at the meet and greet to show you what your options are. I try my best to create the book that is right for you. That is why all of my editing time in designing your album is included in the cost of the above-mentioned basic package within one year of the wedding. Some couples may have a really solid image of the album they would like while others just need me to give it a head start; rest assured that either way we can accommodate most any design you have in mind. Please refer to www.queensberry.com my album partner to get a sneak peak at some of your options.
I’m obsessed with my printers. Though you will own all of your digital files I recommend going through me for anything you might put on your wall or send out to family. Why? Because I will color correct, photoshop and get all of the little stuff perfect so you don’t have to worry! If you need help with thank you cards or save the dates just ask and I can show you samples. Pricing varies based on quantity and paper stock/ design.
WHERE’D YOU LEARN TO SHOOT LIKE THAT?!
Seems crazy to say this but I have been photographing weddings for over ten years now! I started as a black and white darkroom loving photo-nerd youngling fresh out of high school and the passion and skill grew from there. I have worked for some extremely talented Bay Area photographers along with studying visual arts at the University of California Berkeley. The biggest lesson any photographer has taught me is to look at the moment from every single angle. Sometimes the first shot in front of you is not the best shot. I think some of my most creative work has come from looking at the world from a slightly different perspective.
HOW MANY WEDDINGS DO YOU BOOK A YEAR?
I take a maximum of 25 weddings a year. This allows me to spend the time with the couples whose weddings I choose to shoot and not bounce around like a crazy person. I will never shoot two weddings on a single day. When you hire me you are hiring me to have on call the entire day in case what we have on the contract needs to shift. If you need me to stay for overtime on the day of, I’ll be there and have a modest overtime rate because I know that on your wedding day the last thing you want to be worrying about is being on a timeline.
HOW DO I SECURE MY WEDDING DATE WITH YOU?
I require a 40% deposit of the total amount (not including overtime) and contract to secure a wedding date. I encourage my clients to book early as I do fill up quickly only taking a limited amount of wedding clients a year.
DO YOU ALWAYS SHOOT WITH A SECOND SHOOTER?
It is a misconception that you can get a value of a deal by only having one photographer. Though, in rare circumstances I make exceptions to this, having a second photographer/assistant allows me to focus on what is really important- taking wonderful photographs of you and not worrying about equipment and little things that take my eyes off of your wedding… like that wandering bridesmaid who made an early break for the bar during portrait time.
CAN I GET PRINTS OF MY WEDDING PHOTOS?
If you are interested in getting physical prints of your wedding day in addition to the online gallery or along with your album I can provide these as well. This additional cost typically will run around $350+ per set depending on the number of final edits for your wedding.
WHAT YOU GOT IN THAT BAG?
Canon girl all the way.
I SAW THIS COOL THING ON PINTEREST. CAN I…?
Have an idea for an engagement shoot or day of wedding idea that you want to try? I am all about it! If there is one thing that gets me stoked about what I do, it is the chance to try new things.
